KEYBOARD LEGEND BILLY PRESTON DIES AT AGE 59

Keyboard legend and ‘Fifth Beatle’ Billy Preston has died after a long illness as a result of malignant hypertension that resulted in kidney failure and other complications. As a result of a medical insult he’d been in a deep coma since last November 21st, but was still struggling to recover. He died at Shea Scottsdale Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona where he’d lived for the last couple of years. Preston was often called the Fifth Beatle because he played keyboards on Let it Be, The White Album and Abbey Road. Preston also was part of Eric Clapton touring band. Preston’s own hits included “Nothing from Nothing,” “Will it Go Round in Circles,” and “You Are So Beautiful,” which Joe Cocker turned into an…

HAPPY NEW YEAR – 2010 ! – A Swingin’ Safari – Bert Kaempfert – Originally Recorded 1962, and Performed here by Denise Hewitt on Technics SX-PR903 Electronic Synthesiser Keyboard. The song was also recorded by Billy Vaughn and became a big hit on the US Charts. The song was used as the theme tune for the US Television Game Show – The Match Game – from 1962 to 1969. Most recently A Swingin’ Safari has been used as instrumental background music for television advertisements by the well known International Dutch Bank – ING Direct.

The photo in the opening Titles and closing Credits was shot by Denise in “Safari Country” on an Ostrich Farm just West of the Town of Oudsthoorn on Route 62 en-route to Calitzdorp in the Klein Karoo Region of South Africa.
