Mark O’Connor & The American Music Shop! 1 of 4

The band to beat! This is a short segment of the terrific music from “The American Music Shop.” (The Show aired from 1990 to 1993)

Leading the band, is the Legendary Grammy Award-Winning Violinist and World-Class Fiddler: Mark O’Connor!

Song: “Pick Apart” by Mark O’Connor

The New Nashville Cats Band:
Mark O’Connor, Fiddle
Matt Rollings, Keyboards
Brent Mason, Electric Guitar
Michael Rhodes, Electric Bass
Paul Franklin, Pedal Steel
, Drums
Terry McMillan, Tamborine/Percussion

“The American Music Shop featured a different artist each week. Concerts were given in a small, intimate theater and recorded live. In addition to the artists’ own bands, the American Music Shop band accompanied the performers, giving these concerts a unique sound.” (Written by Jason A. Cormier -IMDB Website)

I also whole-heartedly agree with the following author:
“The American Music Shop was one of the greatest music shows ever! Even now, No show has given us the variety and talent that was aired on this program. Heavy’s from Country, Folk, Blues, Bluegrass, Zydeco, would give these amazing performances with as much energy as being at their live shows. The production and sound quality was far superior to any thing CMT could ever do today. I still regularly watch the shows I was lucky enough to have taped. After the show had ended, I asked Jerry Douglas and Mark O’Connor if they missed doing the show, both said “yes”. I wish that the powers that be would sell the shows to syndication. That way, more of the world could enjoy the rich flavor this varied musical flow gave us each week when it aired”. (Written by Pnai -IMDB Website User Comment)

Yes, I too would buy Re-mastered DVDs of all three years of this show if it was available. Please! :-)

Produced by: TNN-THE NASHVILLE NETWORK, 1991.

Duration : 0:5:12

    @Karlboy111 It’s …
@Karlboy111 It’s not a Floyd. It’s a Kahler. It mounts on top of the guitar with very little routing & drilling, thus taking less from the body’s resonance than a full rout such as for a Strat or a Floyd. They were very popular in the ’80′s with rockers who didn’t want to give up their Gibby’s. Peace! out

So you like it eh. I didn’t say it was the drummer. It appears to be the keyboard player??? un chu un chu un chu un chu. And it doesn’t appear difficult. Change it up. Swing it. Syncopate it. Something. Just not the same old thing through the whole piece. My thoughts.
